What is EcoScore?
EcoScore shows you the environmental footprint of a product. An A score means that a product has a low environmental impact - which is good, while an E score means that the product has a very high impact on the environment.

Does every product have an EcoScore?
While most have an EcoScore, there are still a lot of products that don’t have an EcoScore yet. Since the system is new it will take time for some products to appear with an EcoScore. If you see a product which you really like make sure you recommend it!
How is the EcoScore calculated?
Each product with an EcoScore has a complex life cycle analysis done to determine if the product is good for the environment based on the production steps:

6 production steps: agriculture, processing, packaging, transportation, distribution and consumption
and the production’s environmental impact:
14 environmental impact indicators: climate change/carbon footprint, ozone layer depletion, ionizing radiation, land, water, and energy use; pollution of air and marine and fresh water (particles, acidification, eutrophication); and depletion of resources.
