goodbag, goodcup and the Sustainable
Development Goals

What are SDGs?

goodbag and goodcup fulfil 5 of the SDGs:

There needs to be a future in which cities provide opportunities for all, with access to basic services, energy, housing, transportation and more.

Sustainable consumption and production is about promoting resource and energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, and providing access to basic services, green and decent jobs and a better quality of life for all.

Climate change is a global challenge that affects everyone, everywhere.

Careful management of this essential global resource is a key feature of a sustainable future.

Sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss.

How does tree planting and ocean cleanup work?

When we collaborate with NGOs, they provide us with an estimate of the average cost of planting a tree or collecting a plastic bag. This monetary value is converted into Seeds. In the app, the donation amount for the NGO increases accordingly when users choose to support a project. In rare cases, fewer Seeds are needed in the app than the actual donation cost to make "more expensive" tree planting projects accessible at a manageable Seed amount within the app.

Why is this overview always published with a slight delay?

It takes some time to collect all the necessary data. For transparency and accuracy, the yearly report is provided during Q1 of the next year.

Why are there sometimes significant differences in the donation amounts across the different timespans?

External factors, such as marketing campaigns or product launches can create temporary spikes in the generated donations. We are committed to continuously growing both donations and our user base.

What happens if a user deletes their profile?

Even if a user deletes their profile, the trees are still planted, and the projects they supported continue as planned. The donations are anonymized according to GDPR. (You can find this information on the profile deletion screen in the app as well.)
