Associação Bioliving

Associação BioLiving is a non-governmental environmental organization founded in July 2016, with the motto "Nature and Education for All." Its work focuses on four main areas: * Nature conservation * Environmental education and training * Technical and scientific consulting * Social action and inclusion Nature conservation and habitat restoration are at the heart of its mission and Associação BioLiving also believes it’s vital to educate and empower communities for sustainability, active citizenship, and biodiversity protection. Every year, over 3,500 people take part in its activities, which include hundreds of actions for conservation, education, and volunteering. So far, more than 65,000 trees have been planted and many hectares of degraded habitats restored.

Ecological restauration

Nature conservation and protection are central to Associação BioLiving’s mission. Their work aims to support native biodiversity, improve ecosystems, and raise awareness of natural areas and values. To achieve this, they plant native trees and shrubs, control invasive exotic species, monitor local fauna and flora, among other actions, to restore or improve areas in need of ecological recovery.

Planting trees

Launched in June 2021, Agir entre Marés aims to protect marine and estuarine environments. Associação BioLiving organizes beach clean-ups, controls invasive dune species, and raises awareness about protected species and ocean conservation, promoting community engagement and environmental literacy.

About the collaboration

The goal of this project is to create an incentive to go shopping in your local stores, supporting them, while also actively contributing to the health of the local environment and society. The initator of the project is Riagarden, who closely worked together with all parties involved to make the collaboration happen. Every goodbag already is connected to a donation to Associação Bioliving that is sponsored by the entities listed below. Every scan of the goodbags in the local Riagarden stores is tracked and creates further donations.
